When mine went out, it started out not idling (it would die unless I
kept my foot on the pedal), then after a week or two of putting up with
that (before I had time to work on it), the symptom changes to where it
would idle between 1500-2500RPMs. That lasted for a couple days, then
it went back to no idling again. All these problems went away after
replacing the ISC (Idle Speed Controller). The original retail price I
found for the ISC was a little over $300, but I ended up getting one
(with Mitsubishi factory markings) from
http://www.dsmisc.com/dsmweb-dw/index.html , which only cost about $135,
and it's been working great for probably nearly a year now.
