If you are having to wiggle the connector in order to make contact
with the connections on the bulb, then the harness socket isn't making
good connection with the bulb and all the electricity flows through a
small portion of the connector which causes overheating of the
contacts and eventually failure. Get a new harness and use dielectric
grease in the socket to prevent oxidation of the contacts and prevent
moisture from getting in there and corroding the contacts. That
should take care of it.
